WELCOME FUNHOGS!!!

Thanks for visiting. I've been guiding friends all over the mountains, canyons and rivers of the west for most of my adult life. Hoggin' up the fun! Thanks to the Powderwhore movie, and the Powder magazine article, I have so many friends now, that I can soon guide full time! Please join me for the most fun you can imagine! We can customize any tour your imagination or mine can come up with. But here are some great ones.

YURT
PATTI’S YURT
Several summers ago, I built this yurt for Patricia Formicelli at 8500ft. between Brighton and Deer Valley. She is one of the world’s most successful ski coaches, having several athletes currently on the World Cup race circuit. Olympic gold medalist, Ted Ligety, grew up eating her pasta, and trying to keep up with her. She has offered to let my guests stay here. It’s oh so sweet.

THE WASATCH BACK (half-day)
Meet me at the Brighton or Alta ticket office, and ski at least 4,000 vertical feet of untracked backcountry powder down to our shuttle vehicle that will be waiting with barbequed goodies and liquid libations at the hot springs! Or we can make a full day out of it by finding the best powder, and doing laps there, 'till we can't take it anymore.

SQUATTERSVILLE OVERNIGHTER
Get a taste of the joy and reality that I've had the pleasure to savor for almost 17 years. After skiing from the top of any of the resorts in the central Wasatch, we can end up at the place I've been hangin' out at for longer than anywhere. Untracked chutes? Chokin' deep headwalls? Bottomless glades?

Come and get it!! Tunnel in to a cozy hut, buried in the steep and the deep at 9600 feet. I'll cook you filet mignon, serve you hot spiced wine, and leave you alone to enjoy the crackling fire. In the morning, I'll bring you steamin' hot coffee and eggs benedict. Then we'll ski aspen glades down to the hot springs, or down to Park City. Unforgettable.

Refer to the movie clip, magazine article, and my book, NOBODY OWES YOU TOMORROW. At 9,600 feet, on the back of the Wasatch massif, we get our share...trust me. It's like bein' at Snowbird before the lifts. Well, almost. Nowhere gets more of da kind than Little Cottonwood...except maybe Timpanogos or Nebo.

Mt. TIMPANOGOS
There's no easy way up this mountain, and it can be very dangerous. But where risks are great, so are the rewards. I've lived for two summers on this mountain, and carved more corn here than any human alive, maybe. Spring corn runs of 6,000 vertical feet or more can leave you quivering like a...well, you get the picture. In case you can't, imagine the most beautiful... lengthy... immense... smooth... curvaceous...

Mt. NEBO

Like "Timp", Mount Nebo is an avalanche factory. Tallest in the Wasatch, it's a little higher than Timp, and its lines are even more exposed, if anything. There is no finer extreme skiing setting an ywhere, if quality counts, and believe me, it does. One of my old high school buddies owns a mining claim here, and we'll camp there if you want. There are so many lines on this mountain that you can ski where no one else has...ever.

AQUARIUS PLATEAU
Ski off the rim at nearly 11,000 feet, to the end of the snow, where we'll hike 'till we can bike, then we'll bike 'till we can float. Along the way, we can savor the beauty that is only known to those who can do it all...ski, bike, kayak your way from the top to the bottom. Start with a breathtaking view overlooking the vast Escalante wilderness, then let gravity pull you into the heart of it. Float down to the houseboat on Lake Powell. What? Sure! It's up to you!

IDAHO WILD RIVERS
There are so many mountains and canyons and rivers and hot springs in this spectacular place, that to name half of them would take too long. I've been boating and soaking there for many years, but not long enough. I'll retire there. That's a hint.
